Xero Price and Payroll Changes – Sept 2025

There are some upcoming changes to your Xero subscription plans, effective 1 September 2025.
Xero has advised that itʼs making changes to the price of some business subscription plans in New Zealand.

What You Need to Know:

Plan Pricing (from 1 September 2025) -

  • Xero Ledger & Cashbook – no change

  • Xero Ignite – remains the same at $35/month

  • Xero Grow – increases to $83/month

  • Xero Comprehensive – increases to $110/month

  • Xero Ultimate – increases to $125/month


Payroll Changes -

  • Ignite plan – Payroll can now be added for NZ$4 per employee, per month (new).

  • Grow plan – Includes payroll for one person, with additional employees at NZ$4 per person, per month.

  • Comprehensive plan – Includes payroll for up to five people, with additional employees at NZ$4 per person, per month.

  • Ultimate plan – No change: includes payroll for 10 people, with extra employees at NZ$1 per person, per month.

What this means for you:

If your business issues up to 20 invoices or quotes per month and you only run payroll for a few employees, you might be able to downgrade to the Ignite plan and cut your monthly subscription costs, while still maintaining payroll capabilities.
